# Verify a proof

> Free and instant, with nothing to sign up for — verify one credentialed audio file, or pair an older track with its .poh, and read the report-only process record.

**Verify a Proof.**

Free and instant, with nothing to sign up for. Drop in a credentialed WAV and Proof of Human reads its embedded record. For an older export, add the track and the .poh that travels with it. Either way, PoH confirms the record is genuine and bound to that exact file, then shows the report-only process account. Transparency anyone can check.

## How it works

1. **Credentialed audio** — drop the supported WAV that carries its PoH record · up to 65 MB.
2. **Legacy pair** — for an older export, add the exact audio and its .poh sidecar instead.
3. **Verify proof** — the tool reads the credential, checks the exact audio binding, and verifies it with PoH.

No proof of your own yet? Try it with a sample proof, built into the page.

Your audio is uploaded only to check its fingerprint against the proof. It lands in a short-lived store that clears automatically — it isn’t reused or added to anything.

## What a result means

The headline verdict is keyed by what PoH actually witnessed:

### Strong human process witnessed.

PoH watched the editing happen — the takes, the edits, time on task — and signed it to this exact audio.

### Human work, on prior material.

PoH witnessed real editing on top of material it did not see created. The labor is on the record; the origin of the underlying material is not.

### Finished content — no process witnessed.

This audio arrived already complete; PoH saw no editing process behind it. That's a flag for review, not a verdict about how it was made.

### Process too thin to read.

PoH saw some activity but not enough to characterize the work. Reported below, not a verdict.

### Not enough of the session was seen.

PoH captured too little of this session to say anything about the process. Reported below, not a verdict.

## The report-only signal

**Human work witnessed · report-only** — shown as a band (Strong / Present / Limited / Thin), with the exact numbers behind a “Show the numbers” disclosure. Report-only — it never gates a proof. When evidence is thin, the result is UNKNOWN, never AI.

**Forgery signal.** PoH positively witnessed a burst of content arriving faster than a human plays — a paste or generate, not hand-entry. This is the only condition under which PoH flags AI; it's reported, never an automatic rejection. Otherwise: no forgery pattern was witnessed. PoH doesn't claim the music is AI-free — only that it saw no positive evidence of machine-pasted content.

**How this session came together.** AI assists with selecting approved witnessed evidence; fixed server wording presents it. No audio is analyzed, and the note is not an authorship verdict.

## If a check can't be processed

A failed check is neutral and specific — “Unable to process” plus the reason, never an accusation:

- This file isn’t a readable Proof of Human proof.
- This proof wasn’t signed by Proof of Human — it may have been altered.
- This audio doesn’t match the proof. They aren’t the pair that was sealed.
- Proof of Human has no record of issuing this proof.
- This proof was sealed on the artist’s Mac but never registered with Proof of Human, so it can’t be verified here. That’s a settings choice in the PoH app — not tampering. Ask the artist for a PoH-registered proof.
- That doesn’t look like a .poh proof file. Pick the proof that shipped with the track.
- That audio is larger than 64 MB. Use the exact bounce the proof was sealed to.
- Something went wrong reaching the verifier. Please try again.

> PoH attests the recorded editing process and the audio's integrity. It does not by itself certify the music is AI-free.
